LEN Short

LEN though it worked is not one of the patterns that I play too often. One needs to play this trade a bit cautiously. This one opened as a gap up. I like to short gap down stocks and go long on gap up stocks. This one is a gap up stock that went down immediately at open and was a neat pattern. Play it carefully as it can flip.

DRI long

DRI long was a cleaner trade with a strategy called - mid bar continuation pattern from my dvd. This was a weak bar to start with and then steadily went higher giving opportunity to add to the trade. I exited close to the whole number. I play this pattern often.

KMX short

KMX short worked out perfectly. Add was a bit challenging because of the overlap candle pattern on the 5 minute as it had huge tails and one needs to be cautious at times. I was almost at the selloff when one of the candle sticks went above the prior candle high but survived this pullback.
I finally added twice and exited close to the whole number giving me a nice profit. Check out my dvd for this strategy called - Mid Bar Continuation pattern

Is there a pattern here?

On Oct 5th, I had written an article about some of the things I see in the market today. I was expecting the market to go down in the earnings season but it did not to the extent I was thinking. Looking at my trades in the last month or so, I have had much more shorts than longs!!! .. If I look at my trades before September, I can see many more LONG plays than shorts...

This pattern does say something.. it says that the market is running out of gas and sooner or later this is going to tank... I keep the same judgement.. be conservative for now...

ADBE short

ADBE an earnings play opened up weak after a gap up. One has to wait for such trades for it to settle down before jumping in to trade in either direction. I had put a comment on twitter stating to wait for ADBE.
I shorted this stock, this is one of my plays called "FADE PLAY" strategy. I shorted it below the 1 min bars and added below the prior 5 min bar. I managed my position to the next whole number and took my profits..this is also straight from my dvd

CIEN Short

Today CIEN short which was an earnings stock played out very well. Though this is a low end stock with a price of only $20, the range was big. It opened as a big gap down and as you would expect with any reaction, the 1st 15 minutes the stock tried to balance itself and figure out the direction it wants to go. THere was enough weakness in it and it finally went straight down when the 1st 5 min bar high was never taken. This is one of the strategies straight out of the DVD. check out how I played it..

AAPL short

I do not play apple usually. But today the gap down was clean and tried a small piece when it started going down seeing the weakness on 1 minute chart. I added to the position below the 115 area and protected my profits when it came close to the next whole number. This is another one straight from the DVD play called  "Mid bar continuation" strategy.  Another awesome profitable play.

GS Short

Did GS short today. This is a $200 stock and I generally try to avoid such high price stocks but today was the earnings on this and one can expect some momentum that can be played. The 1st bar was just too big for me but being a  $200 stock, one can expect it to have the big momentum. Though I did not add too much to this play, I started to short it and covered it at the whole number when I saw it rebound. The play is straight out of the DVD and one can find similar plays everyday..

ADT Long

Another earnings play that paid of quickly. This is a gap up play that started with a weak bar down. The reversal happened in the next 5 minute and the low of the 1st 5 min bar was never broken. I entered a small size on the reversal green bar and then waited to add to my position. I added as soon as it went above the 1st 5 minute bar and exited close to 35.5 area. Excellent play straight out of my strategy ..

Dish no trade

In most of my posts I cover the trades that you should take or consider or trades that I took on a particular day. Most of the time it is earnings driven as there is more volume than the rest of the days. Today I am covering an earnings play that you SHOULD NOT TRADE!!!

The example here is DISH. The 1st 5 minute bar is big and starts as a gap down but quickly moves up to go higher than the prior day close. Then the next 4 bars are all "inside bars" meaning that they are within the 1st big bars boundaries. These are the ones that you need to be careful about as your trade will not go anywhere and you should avoid them at any costs!!

FEYE short

FEYE was an earnings play with a  perfect short opportunity on 1 min. I added to my position on the low of the 1st 5 min bar and the downtrend on the chart continued to almost $22 where I took my profits. Awesome trade straight out of my dvd. Played KORS long this morning. A classic play out of the strategy called - Mid bar continuation play. I bought it above the 1st 5 min bar and then added immediately on weakness on 5 min chart and protected my position on the whole number 43. Played out awesome...

SNDK long

Called SNDK long early on the 1 min chart. Looked like it will hold the low and it went straight up all the way to the next whole number where I protected my profits immediately. Awesome trade under 5 minutes of trading. It was a gap up stock and when the 1st minute bar low was held and it started to reverse, I wanted to get a small bite out of it and wanted to add above the 1st bar high. It went up quickly to give me profits

ADBE short

Shorted ADBE today when I saw the weakness on the 1 minute chart. The gap was close to yesterday close but the daily chart was not too good. Started small and added to my position and quickly gained my profit target and closed my position. Learn more on how to make $$ quickly..
